Me too! I’ve never built a niche site. Well, not really. I’m not new to creating websites and making money with them. My online business journey started since 2009. So as expected I’ve learned a lot. And I have a few websites to my name including an authority content site that I am proud of and that makes me a consistent monthly income.
However niche sites, that is the build, rank and profit or ‘set it up and forget’ business model is what I am new to. I know a few persons who have done it and succeeded with it. I have read a lot about it and I know everything about the theory of how it works but I haven’t really built a successful one before. But after seeing the success a friend of mine is having with his affiliate niche sites I decided I was going to use the whole of 2016 to create and grow a few niche sites and hopefully find the same success as he did.
What is a Niche Site?
The dictionary definition of a niche site will be a site that is focused on a specific topic or market, usually a smaller portion of a large market. With that definition an authority site with a clear target and content focus is a niche site. But in the Blogging and Internet marketing world a niche site means a site focused on a much smaller niche with the goal of generating income very quickly usually within a few weeks or few months. To differentiate these kind of sites from authority ones, we sometimes call them mini niche site or micro niche site.
The strategy of getting a micro niche site to generate traffic and income quickly relies heavily on search engine optimization which includes a detailed keyword research, blog and post optimization and generating Backlinks.
This is the kind of sites I am just now venturing into.
Why Start NicheSiteVenture.Com?
I am hoping to start, build and grow 3 niche sites from scratch by the end of 2016.
I created this blog to document my process and progress for all the 3 sites I hope to build in 2016. I’m hoping doing this will motivate me even more to see to the success of the sites; and if I can help a few people along the way even better.
Should You Start a Niche Site?
I’d say why not! Let’s consider all the advantages.
It is dirty cheap to set up. Some spend hundreds of dollars on growing their niche site but all you really need is the basic site set up cost which is cost for domain name and hosting. And that’s all I am spending on my sites, well at least for the first one.
They produce results fast! If you dedicate yourself to putting in the work quickly, traffic and income comes really fast, especially when compared to blogging where bloggers usually spend years building an audience before starting to make money.
If you don’t consider writing as work then it’s easy to set up. The only way a niche site can really achieve success today is to build a mini authority niche site. And that means more content than usual. But it’s still much easier to do than full blogging in that you write the most content at the beginning of starting the site, when it has established its place in search rankings you no longer have to write as often as blogging requires.
If you’re new to making money online and you don’t want to wait many years before making money, or you’re currently struggling to make a decent income online or you’re looking to diversify your online income to see what else works, then follow my process and progress. I’m sure you will learn a lot!
In the last few years many people have started a niche site from scratch and documented their process and progress on their blogs, but most of these updates were from 2010 to 2013. As you’d expect some of the information they contained are now outdated. My niche site updates will show strategies that work for 2016 and beyond.
Enough said. Let’s get to work shall we?
